Bye Queenswood.

This is the last blog from Queenswood,the last Ecomm lesson in this year.It was an amazing time here,meeting new friends from different countries,learning english.Intensive but fun was the slogan from Lines.It was intensive,6 lessons english a day,fun was it too,because all of my classmates in Rowling and in Pratchett were great and friendly.We had a lot of fun during the lessons.The food especially the breakfast was good,I mean it had to be good,because we had to survive four weeks:D
At first I didn't like to get up at seven o'clock even on Sundays,and get into bed at 11 o'clock but after one week my circadian rhythm had changed so that I woke up every day at 7 o'clock and I couldn't go to bed one hour earlier because I just became tired at 11 o'clock.Of course I look forward to see my family again and my cats,and my room,my own bathroom and so on.... One thing,which was really annoying was the weather.There were just about 4 days,on which it hadn't rained,while the Germans suffer on hot temperatures.
I think it will be really hard to say goodbye to the people,who we've seen every day,four weeks long,like our houseparents Sibe,Raman and Lucy.We all like them,but they're very strict too.
I will miss the evenings in the TV rooms when we just sat there and talked to each other(of course in english) or the evenings when we watched a movie.Or the morning sentence from Sibe;Good morning Girls,wake up now,open the curtains,open the window,make sure your room is clean.Everything hast to be perfect today.
Pro tennis was funny too it was good to do sports after dinner.So after it you can just relax.
The coaches were friendly,it was perfect.
The area around Queenwood and itself is beautiful.

Life in Tudortimes

Life in the Tudortimes was very different from Life today,of course there were differences from poor to rich.So today I am going to write about the Daily life of poor and rich people in 1400.
In this times were four sorts of people,the first was gentlemans,then citizens of the city,yeomen of the countryside and the last was poor peolpe.
Life for the poor people was very hard,to make it more demonstrative I'll describe the life of a girl,who's eight years old from the poor status.The poor girl is Maria,she lives with her family in a small village,her parents are working six days a week,they're producing their own clothes.
Maria for example wears wollen cloth,whether the rich children wear big dresses,which are very uncomfortable for doing sports or something like that.Therefore wasn't it always better to be rich.
But rich people had more advantage in hygenic things.For example the toilets of poor people were often a hole in the ground,everybody could see you,the toilets of rich people were a little room in the first floor where the waste would drop down.So when they got up in the morning they had no alarm
no lights no electronic,what they ate was addicted to where they life and the season.In summer fruits were mostly eaten in winter thay had just fruits in syrup.Fish would be eaten when peoples live near the sea and real meat was only food for rich people but it was always fresh.Poor people ate bread with soup,every day and every time but they also ate chicken.
Entertainment was different too.Instead of computer and TV they had sports,music and theatres.
Sports like hunting or jousting was only allowed for upper classes,poor people could play football ........break time

Westfield and Disco

On Saturday we went shopping to one of the biggest shoppingcenters in Europe: Westfield in London.There were a few girls,who have said that shopping centers are boring and that they want to go to Oxford Street. But after this day these girls prefer this shopping center from Oxford Street,because it was so big and very new.And there was a advantage over Oxford street-it can't rain in a shopping center,so you can wear a T-shirt all the time.:)
Later in the evening was a disco in the Dining Hall.First we didn't want to go there because the last time was very boring,but then we get bored in our rooms because we didn't know what to do,so we decided to have a look in the Dining Hall.But just Christina and me,the others wanted to stay in the rooms.As we walked into the Dining Hall there were just a few people dancing,I think disco is only fun when everybody dance,unfortunantely there were more than the half of the students in the musical.Therefore it was very empty in the big dining hall.The DJ wasn't so good too,because he only played songs,which nobody knows or which are bad to dance of.Anyway it was a great day in the shopping center and the Disco was ok too.

London[Globe Theatre and Tate modern]

On Wednesday we went to London again.First we visited the Globe theatre and then the Tate modern.Today I am going to write about the art in the Tate modern and what kind of art I like.

First of all is the Tate modern the biggest museum of moern artin the world.Even the building is art.There are works of many modern artists but also of other artists.

In a few rooms they showed 'sculptures'of modern artists,it was very funny because in one room was a table and 4 chairs.But they were even bigger than us.We feeled like midgets!It was cool but is this art?We didn't know,because we didn't know what the message of this work was.Maybe the artist wanted to show us how we feel if we were so little.So we went on,in the next room there was a work of Cornelia Parker it was really strange,because... I can't describe;

And again we asked us;Why do they call this art?

Yes,it looks amazing and I like it but why did the artist this work?

The Future

Today I am going to write about the life in a future city,therefore I'll create a girl,who lives in a future city in 2050.Her name is Sarah and she is 15 years old, she lives together with her mum and her dad.

It is 6 o'clock and the alarm rings in Sarahs room.She turns it off and then she gets out of her bed.Her first move in the morning is to her new wardrobe,which has a mirror and a little computer in it. The computer tells her the weather report and then it offers her a perfect outfit for the day in line with the temperature.

After this she goes to the bathroom,where she gets ready for school,but it is not her,who makes the make-up and her hair it's like a new robot,which works together with her wardrobe,that means it sees the outfit and then it creates a hairstyle,which fits to her outfit.While she sits in the styling she writes a short message with her mobile phone to the fridge,in which she tells it what she wants to eat.Today she wants to eat cereal with apples and peaches.So she sends the message and after the hairstyling she goes to the kitchen,where her breakfast waits in the fridge.
Her mum and dad are still in their beds,so Sarah has her breakfast alone,therefore she turns the TV on where she watches the traffic report on the ground and in the air,so she can decides whether she should take the car or her little plane.On TV they tell her that the air traffic is crowded,so she'll take her little car.

I thought I could write you a few things about Queenswood and the life in Queenswood.
First of all the other girls in the picture are Nikola(German) Margeaux and Camille (French).Sadly all of them left on Saturday.The photo was taken in the TV-Room in our House,in which we met often in the evenings.We watched movies or we chatted to each other and most of the time someone was playing the piano which wasn't always nice,because the piano sounds strange.
I miss the pupils a lot who were here last week,but the girls in my room didn't leave so that's cool.I like them a lot.We have a decoration competition in the whole school; which room is the nicest?
Our room is full of decorations.On the walls are posters,feathers,straws and other things which I can't say in English ( wir haben eisstiele bemalt und an die wand geklebt sowie geschenkpapierschleifen gemacht und sie an die wand gehanegn;) ) Now our room looks lie carnival, but if we win we would have pizza for the whole house!
I have to finish now because it's breaktime,
